I worked in the world of media, social service
programs and sixties/seventies politics for one full trip around
the sun – 22 years – from 1958 to 1980.
I began working on Timeseed in 1979, living in an
isolated area close in to Austin. There were 14 middens under and
behind my house – where ancient peoples had cooked & lived.
In the fifties and sixties in Texas, you had to
exercise caution in talking about phenomena that related to the
unseen world.
Now there are a half dozen cable TV shows that
use cameras, recorders and reporter's own personal experiences -
to convey a sense of the “spirit world”.
In my childhood in South San Antonio, our local
herbalist lived just two houses from me. She lived in a single
garage conversion with an upper floor.
I helped her bag her plant medicines, helped her
make tortillas and had conversations with neighborhood medicine
teachers – many of whom were “spiritualistas” teaching
access to an unseen world of ELECTRO-MAGNETISM mixed with WILL.
By 1980, I was beyond fried and left my
professional, suit and tie world for 22 years – another full
trip around the sun. I studied with teachers from various paths
of STUDY, DISCIPLINE and PRACTICE.
In the early eighties, I met Deborah in Nevada
City, California. She was minister at a small church focused on
natural healing.
We ran a spa-cafe-MEETING PLACE for two years. We
have been together for more than two decades. We are married with
an extended family that includes seven grandchildren, & one
more coming.
Without Deborah, this work would still be in
boxes under the bed at my sisters for 34 years – like my novel
on the SIXTIES.
She has helped create TIMESEED from selecting
images of archetypes to doing the tedious, webmaster work of
getting us online, into search engines and co-ordinating work
with family members.
Around seven years ago, we began putting TIMESEED
on the web. We had help from a young LINUX developer named Josh
Green that contributed his PHP gifts/skills to TIMESEED.
We choose to live in a world LESS HURRIED &
more NATURE FOCUSED – more planning and less crisis management.
We focus on ANIMAL SURVIVAL as much as on SPIRITUAL EVOLUTION.
We try to grow as much of our own food as we can.
We try to heal ourselves with NATURAL METHODS. Neither one of us
takes PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.

ONCE A MONTH. The next COLUMN will be in Sept., 2009.
